Once the newly hatched loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) is licked by the first waves it is saved from the ghost crabs, just to face the aquatic predators now. The hatchling most effectively switches from the alternate movements of on-land-locomotion to the simultaneous stroke of underwater flight.
