High up on a mountain, within huge remote olive orchards the German wildlife photographer Solvin Zankl found the best view over the Dalyan Delta, where the river artfully creates patterns of water and reed before reaching the beachfront to the open Mediterranean Sea. In the salt water and in the brackish water one can find loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) and Nile soft-shelled turtles (Trionyx triunguis), respectively, and both species nest in the sand of the long beach.
