Outdoor Exhibition No. 5 – in Madrid!

Revealing…. Madrid – Our first Southern Europe Exhibition

Wild Wonders of Europe
  Wild Wonders of Europe
We are thrilled to finally bring “Wild Wonders of Europe” to the southern half of Europe. Showcasing Europe’s natural treasures in 100 life-size images, the outdoor exhibition opens in Madrid, Spain on 25 September 2012 where it will be on show in El Retiro Park’s beautiful rose garden until December, offering free entry all day.

With an impressive 15% of the exhibition images from Spain, Spaniards can rightly be proud of their rich heritage! The exhibition has been made possible by our main partner, Rewilding Europe – a ground breaking initiative that is leading the way in a new conservation vision for Europe, together with The City Council of Madrid, The United Postcode Lotteries, The Madrid Community, The World Wilderness Congress, WILD 10 which comes to Salamanca in 2013 and Philips.

Location: El Retiro Park, Madrid, Spain
Date: 25 September – December 2012

For 10 fabulous weeks, the commanding view from the escalators of the Hauptbanhof, an expanse of glass from sky to floor, looked right out onto the Wild Wonders of Europe exhibition – the ultimate grand advertisement for us. A resounding thank you to the 750,000 visitors and 1000 school kids who passed through the exhibition at Washingtonplatz. We hope that we have opened your eyes to Europe’s amazing natural wealth and that the images worked their magic by inspiring the next generation. Our gratitude also extends to the Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und Reaktorsicherheit who made it all possible!!

Enjoy some of the fabulous moments captured during our time in Berlin.

Over the next two weeks Magnus Lundgren & Florian Möllers (Wild Wonders of Europe Directors & photographers) will post images & impressions from the exciting tours they guided for our partner PolarQuest. With each of them on a different ship (M/S Stockholm, M/S Quest) you will be able to follow the many wild encounters they had in the same or different locations – on the same day! Start your adventure here!

Explore Arctic wildlife yourself!
There are limited numbers of berths still available for two trips with the M/S Quest: the “Circumnavigation of Svalbard” from August 25 to September 4, and “Autumn in Svalbard” from September 4 to September 16.

Attention photographers: the light should be spectacular on both these trips!

Wild Wonders at AREDAY 2012 Summit, August 17 - 20

Arranged by Susan Bruce, the Wild Wonders of Europe video and images will be presented at AREDAY, the American Renewable Energy Day. It is one of the most important renewable energy technology and policy summits in the United States, held in Aspen, Colorado each August. Watch the festival trailer on VIMEO. Thanks to support from The WILD Foundation, a taster of the exhibition will be on display, showing us the amazing heritage we have and why it is important to live in harmony with nature.
