Janne Heimonen and Marcus Valeur are currently in the field with Wild Wonders of Europe Director and Pro-Photographer Peter Cairns. And report from some first encounters with Highland wildlife! “The main subject of the day two was the ptarmigan. In the morning, we packed our stuff to Pete's Range rover and headed to the mountains. Lots of walking to mountains, and lots of sweating. But we managed to find ptarmigans to photograph! Although they were little more timid than usual. Maybe because of the weather?”

Sergey Gorshkov has left the Wild Wonders of Europe team after an increasing number of doubts were raised about the authenticity and new facts were revealed to us about the “making-of” of his wolf photos from Russia.
He was not willing to answer a number of detailed questions posed by the Wild Wonders of Europe Directors about the circumstances under which his pictures were taken. We therefore decided to withdraw all his images from the project. His appearances on the project’s website and in our exhibitions have been removed as well.
We apologize to all friends and followers of Wild Wonders of Europe that our previous research in this matter didn’t reveal the crucial facts despite the great deal of effort we had put into it.
We thank all those who contributed in pointing our attention to this issue.
